Heinrichs Thermoliner

The livery is a familiar shade, one that has appeared on Danish and Swiss fleets alike, but it looks particularly striking here. It works just as convincingly on a flat-top DAF as it does on a Scania, which rather proves the point.

A Subtle Approach

This truck carries off its specification with real restraint. Almost every custom part currently in fashion is present, and while not all of it appeals, the execution deserves credit. There is a bull bar, Speedline wheels on the front axle, full chassis infill and tank-look side skirts, Danish square rear lights on both tractor and trailer, 2-series Scania top side lights, double twin air horns, a short air deflector kit allowing for a flat panel on the back of the cab, and a smart set of exhaust stacks.

Completing the rig is a matching trailer, finished with mudguards to match the tractor. Heinrichs Thermoliner has got the details spot on, with one exception: the spots on the roof. That particular trend still holds sway among European operators, though it looks set to fade in favour of nothing at all, or something smaller and smarter.

Trailer Details

The Scania mudguards on the trailer look excellent, and once they were pointed out, plenty more examples came into view. Full infill runs around the trailer, with skirts and toolboxes. At the rear, a cartoon depicts Germany’s own answer to Lisa Kelly: Frau Heinrichs herself.

Inside the Cab

Another plush masterpiece from Special Interior, this time trimmed in dark brown leather. Standing and looking into these sumptuous cabs, you are greeted by two scents. The first is whatever air freshener the driver has chosen, usually a Poppy type or similar. The second, for most, is the delightful scent of real leather, something most factory-finished trucks no longer have much of.

Browns and creams sit very well together, complemented by traditional red lighting. The rear cab wall is finished with the Frau Heinrichs cartoon, embossed with a red back light surround. Everything is colour coded.
