Kenworth has marked its 100th anniversary year with the launch of the T680 Signature Edition, a specially trimmed version of its flagship long-haul tractor. The model is offered with the company’s 76-inch mid-roof and high-roof sleeper cabs, and production is confined to the 2023 centenary year.
Interior specification
The Signature Edition Diamond VIT package brings a black interior lifted by legacy red stitching that runs through both the cab and the sleeper. A GT703 seat carrying the Kenworth 100 branding and red accents is part of the specification, alongside brushed platinum trim for the dashboard and doors. The Kenworth 100 logo is stitched into the rear wall of the sleeper.
Exterior details
Outside, the truck wears a black onyx grille and side air intake, with Kenworth 100 badges mounted prominently on the sleeper. Buyers choosing a mid-roof configuration can add an optional Kenworth 100 exhaust shield cutout and black anodised grille mesh. Also on the options list are new Alcoa wheels with a distinctive spoke pattern, finished in Dura-Bright or Dura-Black.
Centenary paint colours
Four signature paint colours have been introduced across new Kenworth Class 8 and medium duty trucks: Century Platinum, Century Black Red, Century Red and Century Gold.
Model heritage
The T680 is described by the manufacturer as its most aerodynamic and fuel-efficient truck to date, and as the successor to the T600, the model introduced in 1985 that the company regards as the industry’s first genuinely aerodynamic design. Jim Walenczak, Kenworth assistant general manager for sales and marketing, said the Signature Edition would suit both owner-operators and fleets looking for a reward truck for their best drivers.
The T680 Signature Edition can be ordered now through Kenworth dealers. Kenworth Truck Company was founded in 1923 and is a PACCAR company.
