TB Hits the Big Time

The closure of one of England’s best-known haulage firms has been announced, with the company set to shut its gates for good. The decision by Whites Transport Services comes as a result of retirement rather than any other difficulty, though it may prove a timely move given the current climate in the industry.

A Final Run to Italy

Pete White took the opportunity to complete one of the firm’s last runs to Italy, making the round trip over eight days. The journey was documented in daily updates, which are well worth reading for anyone interested in following the route, the deliveries and collections, and the experience of a full international run.

Many transport managers know the routes, the delivery and collection points, and may even have handled trailer changes in France, but rarely get the chance to undertake a complete round trip themselves. Pete White chose not to be one of those and joined one of the final Italian runs.

A Sticker on the Move

Jase, who formerly drove the red Scania used for the trip, received one of the stickers that has become a familiar sight on trucks across the country. The sticker was photographed on the move with the vehicle during the journey, marking another appearance for it within the industry.

The team at Whites Transport Services has been wished well for the future, along with a happy and long retirement for Ray White.
